  • Dr. Onur Tigli received the prestigious CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for his proposal "Acoustics Lab on a Chip for Comprehensive Biophysical Studies of Tumor Cells: Towards Personalized Cancer Diagnosis and Therapeutics". NSF CAREER award is National Science Foundation's most prestigious award in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.
  • Dr. Onur Tigli received Provost's Research Award (PRA). The PRAs are designed to foster excellence in research, scholarship and creative activities at the University of Miami. As stated in the award letter: This award reflects the high opinion of the faculty peers concerning the quality of Dr. Tigli's research in Micron Scale Energy Harvesters for Self Sustained Systems.
  • The grand opening for the cutting-edge clean room/nanofabrication facility of the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation Biomedical Nanotechnology Institute at the University of Miami (BioNIUM) was held on 01/28/2015 at UM's Life Science and Technology Park. Dr. Tigli led the tours of the facilities for the UM executives and Foundation board members 
  • Dr. Onur Tigli received Eliahu I. Jury Early Career Research Award during the annual College of Engineering Recognition Dinner on 12/05/2014. This award is given to recognize outstanding research and scholarship for a pre-tenured faculty member. Dr. Tigli received this award for obtaining major research grants, including an NSF CAREER award for research in microchip technologies for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics
